Thousands Of Luminaries In Memory Of Girl Who Died Boating

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Minnesota community used light last night to honor a little girl who died unexpectedly.

Thousands of luminaries lined the streets in Edina in memory of Sophia Baechler.

They stretched from the 50th and France area all the way to Our Lady Of Grace Catholic Church, where a visitation was held for the second grader last night.

She died from apparent carbon monoxide poisoning while boating on Lake Minnetonka on Sunday.

The Center for Disease Control says there have been 180 carbon monoxide-related boating deaths in the U.S. since 2000.
