Thompson Says He Took In $120K For Minn. Gov Race

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — State Sen. Dave Thompson reports having raised $120,000 last year toward his 2014 run for Minnesota governor.

The Republican offered his tally Monday on his campaign website but didn't say how much he has remaining after covering expenses. He says his fundraising is a "solid start" in what could be an expensive campaign.

Minnesota candidates have until the end of January to submit comprehensive reports on campaign activity.

Thompson is among seven Republicans with registered campaign committees for the 2014 race. No others have disclosed their totals.

Only one will move on to a general election campaign against Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton.
