Paul Thissen Sworn In As Minnesota Supreme Court Justice

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Former House Speaker Paul Thissen has a new title: associate justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court.

The former Democratic House Leader was sworn into office Tuesday afternoon at the Landmark Center in downtown St. Paul.

He replaces Judge David Stras, who is now serving on the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Thissen dropped out the race for governor in April, when Gov. Mark Dayton appointed him to the bench.
