Thief Swipes Donation Jar, Coffee From Gas Station

SAVAGE, Minn. (WCCO) -- Savage Police are investigating after a man stole a donation jar intended to benefit the Children's Miracle Network from a gas station early Thursday morning.

According to police, the thief entered the Super America on the 14200 block of O'Connell Road at about 3 a.m. and made himself a cappuccino.

He then reached over the checkout counter and grabbed the donation jar. He left the gas station with both the jar and the coffee.

The jar contained an undisclosed amount of cash.

Surveillance video showed a man standing nearly 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds. He was about 45 years old and had dark hair and a light mustache.

The man was seen driving a Ford Windstar minivan.
