Police: Items Stolen From Apartment Damaged In Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities in Hibbing are searching for the person(s) who broke into an apartment recently damaged by a fire and stole several dollars worth of items.

On Saturday, a fire started in the basement of a four-unit apartment complex on the 1600 block of Third Avenue East.

Three families were displaced. They were able to take basic belongings with them.

The Hibbing Fire Department is currently investigating the cause of the fire.

According to officials, sometime between Sunday and Tuesday afternoon, someone broke into the rear first floor apartment and stole several items.

Police said the thieves stole TV's, computers, gaming devices, clothing and even some wrapped presents.
