MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A new study claims humans are putting certain species at risk by killing animals that are the wrong size and age.

According to research published in Science Journal, the way humans are hunting and fishing is unsustainable.

That's because humans aren't killing smaller and weaker animals as is typical of predators in the wild. The study points to the fact that many hunters focus on killing the biggest and most mature animals.

It says killing animals at their peak could lead to significant ecological impacts and change the course of evolution.
