Temperatures Well Below Zero Return To Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Blowing snow and icy roads are causing hazardous travel conditions in Minnesota as another cold snap moves in.

Temperatures will dip into the negative teens and 20s overnight and into Monday, prompting officials to warn state residents to stay inside.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation said no travel was advised in the Twin Cities on Sunday night because of dangerous driving conditions. The National Weather Service says lows will reach 18 below zero Sunday evening, with wind chills down to negative 43. Monday's high is expected to be about 10 below with gusty winds making it feel like negative 44.

A blizzard warning was issued for points west and north. Temperatures will drop to 23 below zero overnight in Fergus Falls, with wind chills as low as negative 47.
