Teen Struck By Car, Seriously Injured In Wright County

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 16-year-old boy has been seriously injured after he was struck by a car on a Wright County road Thursday afternoon, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The state patrol says a Suzuki Aerio was turning east onto Highway 12 from a Holiday Gas Station in Delano when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle struck the pedestrian, causing serious injuries.

The victim, identified as Leighton Robinson of Winsted, was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center.

The driver of the vehicle is identified as 23-year-old Tayler Zepeda of Woodbury. Three other people, including a 1- and 3-year-old, were inside the car at the time of the crash.

All occupants suffered no apparent injuries.
