Teen In Custody After High-Speed Pursuit In Alexandria

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A teenager is in custody after a high speed chase near Alexandria Friday night.

Police say 18-year-old Rebekah Satler of Elbow Lake, Minnesota is charged with fleeing peace officers in a motor vehicle, fleeing peace officers on foot, providing a false name to a police officer, speeding, disobeying a semaphore, disobeying a stop sign, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities say it started at around 5:20 p.m. when officers pulled Satler over near the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Maple Street in Alexandria. During the traffic stop, Satler fled east on 2nd Avenue, then south on Irving Street, then west on 3rd Avenue until she got onto County Road 82 with speeds up to 100 mph.

According to a statement from police, Satler stopped the car at the Creamery Apartments in the city of Brandon where she fled on foot. Douglas County deputies caught up with her after a two-block pursuit and took her into custody. Neither she, nor officers, were injured in the incident.

The Douglas County Sheriff's office, the Alexandria Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted in the pursuit and investigation.
