Teen Arrested Following Wis. Bank Robbery

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 19-year-old man is in custody after authorities in western Wisconsin arrested him Wednesday in connection to a bank robbery.

The robbery happened just after noon at Sterling Bank in Rice Lake, Wis., the city police department said. The suspect entered the bank, showed a gun, and got an undisclosed amount of money before running off.

Minutes later, authorities arrested Jesse Sweeter, of Rice Lake. Police recovered both the money and a gun.

Sweeter is currently being held in Barron County Jail, pending formal charges.

The robbery is still under investigation, officials say, because similar events have happened in the area.
