TCF Bank Stadium Uses Preseason To Prep For Vikings Games

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Preseason football is underway, and without a home of their own the Minnesota Vikings have moved in to their temporary home at TCF Bank Stadium

That means some big changes for fans.

University of Minnesota officials and the Minnesota Vikings are looking at Friday's preseason game as a test run for how things should go for the regular season.

University officials are asking fans to allow plenty of time in getting to the stadium to find parking, as construction and road closures will make for some heavy traffic.

The parking lots normally used for tailgating at Gopher games, adjacent to the stadium, are off limits.

Concessions are being added for Friday's game to allow for more beer sales around the stadium.

Officials are making sure fans get the NFL experience here at TCF.

Because of the traffic fans are encouraged to use public transportation, Metro Transit's southwest station on the new Green Line that is now open.
