Taste Of Minnesota Staying In Waconia This Summer

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - The Taste of Minnesota festival will be staying in Waconia this summer.

The Fourth of July celebration will return for the second year to the Carver County Fairgrounds from July 2-5.

The festival was moved from Harriet Island last year after floodwaters overran the island last June.

"We received a very warm welcome in Waconia last year when we were in urgent need of a new home," Linda Maddox, general manager of A Taste of Minnesota, said in a statement. "After carefully evaluating Saint Paul and other venue options for 2015, we decided to return to Waconia."

The festival will include big-name musicians, classic Minnesota dishes and a giant fireworks display.

"We're excited to have them return in 2015 and hopefully into the future," Waconia mayor Jim Sanborn said. "I have heard great support from local businesses and from people who attended last year's Taste."

Musical acts and more details will be released in the spring.
