Local Fundraiser Provides Free Meals For Students

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – This Thursday, more than 30 area restaurants are teaming up to help pay for summer meal programs.

Taste of the Nation Hotlist is taking place at the Nicollet Island Pavilion.

The event features food from some of the Twin Cities most renowned restaurants, such as Spoon and Stable, Café Alma, Saint Dinette and Red Cow. It also features beverages from local breweries and distilleries.

All proceeds from the event will go to Share Our Strength Minneapolis, who partners with Second Harvest Heartland and the University of Minnesota's Co-op Extension, to help provide free meals to students over the summer.

The event is Thursday from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Nicollet Island Pavilion.

General admission tickets are $75, VIP are $125.
