Tarrier Foods Recalls Chopped Candy Lacking Peanut Warning

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Tarrier Foods is recalling more than 300 cases of its Chopped Twix candy topping because the Ohio company says the ingredient statement on the packaging didn't show that it may contain peanuts and eggs.

The Columbus company says people allergic or sensitive to peanuts or eggs could risk a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction by consuming the product.

The recalled product was distributed to wholesale warehouses in Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Florida where it was distributed to food services. It can be identified by the item number 0870 on the outside of the case. The two bags in white film inside are marked "CHOPPED TWIX Lot 087034314".

The company says no illnesses have been reported. Consumers are urged to return the recalled product to the distributor for a refund.
