Tap Talk: Tin Whiskers Releases Scottish Ale In Bottles

If you're craving a new brew from St. Paul brewery Tin Whiskers, wait no longer.

On Feb, 12, Lecky Scottish Ale is returning to the taps!

Lecky Scottish Ale is a dry, peated Scottish ale that uses six different malt varieties. It combines Nugget and East Kent Golding hops to create a complex yet approachable ale.

"This is an exotic yet approachable winter ale option. It has a well-balanced peated smoke flavor to appeal to smoked ale and Scotch lovers alike, yet smooth enough for those unfamiliar with the style," president Jeff Moriarty said in a recent press release. "A great introduction to the style for those who haven't tried it."

Prior to this seasonal's return to taps, it will be available in bottles. On Feb. 9, Lecky Scottish Ale will be available for the first time ever in 22 oz. bottles wherever Tin Whiskers is sold.

As with all Tin Whisker names, there is an electrical connection to the Scottish Ale. Lecky is the Scottish slang for electricity.
