Suspect In U Of M Security Threat Arrested

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - The University of Minnesota is still quiet on the exact nature of the security threat that closed the Coffman Memorial Union Monday.

But the university now says that a suspect has been arrested and is being held in Hennepin County Jail.

Campus police say someone left a tent bag outside Coffman Union early Monday morning.

Students and staff were told not to enter the building as security searched the premises.

The building was closed all day Monday and reopened at 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Charges and more information are expected soon.
