Officials say participants in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day raised more than $1.4 million this year for breast cancer research. The money goes to research efforts, scientific programs and community-based breast health and education programs.

The three-day event featured a 60-mile walk for women and men pledging to put an end to breast cancer. The weekend event wraps up Sunday night with closing ceremonies at Harriet Island in St. Paul.

The event will return to the Twin Cities next year, Aug. 18-20.
