Surly Voted MN's Best Brewery; Makes Top 100 Worldwide

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Twin Cities-based Surly Brewing Company continues to receive high praise for its craft beer.

On Sunday night, Surly was voted the Best Brewery in Minnesota by RateBeer – an online beer review portal – at its annual award ceremony in Santa Rosa, California.

That wasn't the only award for Surly.

The brewery was also named one of the Top 100 Brewers in the World, Top 100 Beers in the World (for Darkness and Abrasive) and Best Beer from Minnesota (Abrasive).

If that wasn't enough, Surly also won gold for the Dark Lager category (SurlyFest named No. 1 in the world), silver in the IPA category (Todd The Axe Man named No. 6 in the world) and bronze in the Imperial IPA category (Abrasive named No. 11 in the world).

The ceremony was attended by around 40 brewers from 12 different countries.
