Summer Could See Lowest Gas Prices In 12 Years

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Good news for those hoping to hit the road this summer -- gas prices will be at their lowest in years.

A government forecast said the price for a gallon of gas should average $2.27 through September. That's down 13 percent from last summer, and the lowest pump prices have been in 12 years.

In fact, $2.27 is the exact amount most Minnesotans are paying now.

The average price stayed the same overnight, and is up just one cent from this time last week.

The national average this morning is $2.36 a gallon.
