Stun Gun Used On Man Fleeing Benton County Court

FOLEY, Minn. (WCCO) -- A stun gun was used to detain a Brooklyn Center man after he attempted to flee from custody during a probation violation hearing at the Benton County Court Facility on Thursday morning.

Dontae Marcus Frazier, 36, had just been sentenced to 86 months in prison and was about to be taken into custody when he fled the courtroom at about 11:10 a.m.

Benton County bailiffs and County Attorney Phil Miller stopped Frazier in a hallway, and a stun gun was soon used to detain him.

Frazier is in the Benton County Jail and awaits transfer to prison for probation violation. New charges, including escape from custody and fourth-degree assault, are pending.
