Study: Time In Front Of The TV Correlated To Childhood Obesity

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – When it comes to kids, how much TV is too much TV?

A new study from the National Center for Education Statistics that found 5- and 6-year-olds who watch just an hour of TV a day are significantly more likely to be overweight or obese compared to kids who watch less.

Reports have found that U.S. kindergarteners watch an average of three hours of TV a day.

It's important to note that this study didn't prove that watching TV caused children to gain weight only that it's an association.
