Students Celebrate Volunteering At 3rd Annual WE Day

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Some 18,000 students from around Minnesota are getting ready for the third WE Day Minnesota Tuesday.

The event, held at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, will be full of students committed to making a difference.

Instead of buying tickets, students earn their spot to attend the event through their volunteering and philanthropic efforts.

This year, there are 550 schools taking part and together they raised $850,000. That money goes to both local and global charities.

This year's event will feature Ciara, Chelsea Clinton, Henry Winkler and much more.

Students will also notice something different at this year's concert: a 360 degree center stage.
