Stroke Survivor Back On The Slopes At Hyland Hills

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Dave Bancroft has had a passion for skiing his entire life, but had to put his hobby on hold after he suffered a stroke in 2014.

After nearly two years of working with the Courage Kenny Adaptive Ski Program, Bancroft finally got the chance to get back on the slopes.  He was surrounded by family at as he headed down the hill at Hyland Hills Ski Area on Sunday.

He says he's thankful for the volunteers that helped make it possible.

"At 65 to be able to learn to ski again, have all these great people helping me, it's wonderful," he said.

Courage Kenny offers a variety of programs across the metro.
