Storms Expected Sunday Night, Monday

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – As warm and humid weather moves back into Minnesota, storms will likely rumble over the state during the start of the workweek.

Meteorologist Mike Augustyniak says that the northern half of the state could see severe thunderstorms on Sunday night, with damaging winds and hail possible.

The chance of severe weather continues on Monday, when scattered storms are expected for a larger swath of the state, including the Twin Cities metro.

The National Weather Service says the greatest risk for severe weather Monday is during the afternoon.

Augustyniak says that rain could linger into Tuesday morning, but after that, the skies will clear.

He added that a Top 10 Weather Day might be in store for later in the week.
