Police Investigate Chase Involving Stolen Car, Bus Stop Crash; Relation Unclear

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police from multiple agencies in the Twin Cities are investigating a chase involving a stolen vehicle.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, deputies and officers from Minneapolis Police K-9 unit were attempting to locate the driver of a stolen vehicle Wednesday evening. The car had been involved in a pursuit earlier.

At the same time, St. Paul police were investigating a crash that left a boy injured.

St. Paul police also said a boy with his dad was hit. He was not seriously injured. WCCO traffic management cameras captured footage of a large scene along I-35W at University Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A short time before that, a Metro Transit bus shelter was damaged in St. Paul along University Avenue and Pascal Street North.

St. Paul police could not confirm whether the vehicle that hit the boy was stolen and neither St. Paul or State Patrol could confirm anything about the bus stop crash. Both agencies did say more information would be available Thursday.
