Stewart Mills Talks 8th District, Running Against Nolan

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The November election is five months away, but we are already seeing a lot of campaign ads.

Mike McFadden is the Republican endorsed candidate running against Sen. Al Franken, and Time Magazine named McFadden's campaign ad one of the six best of the summer. Another ad that is attracting attention and controversy comes from the Republican challenger to 8th District Congressman Rick Nolan.

In the ad, Stewart Mills accuses Nolan of voting to take away gun owners' rights.

The 8th Congressional District seat has been one of the most unpredictable in the nation, with Republican Chip Cravaak beating longtime incumbent Jim Obertar in 2010. Then in 2012, Democrat Rick Nolan beat Cravaak. This year, Mills is mounting a challenge to Nolan that is receiving national attention.

Mills talked about the upcoming election and race against Nolan for that seat on WCCO Sunday Morning with Esme Murphy.
