State Patrol Investigating Fatal Crash In Anoka Co.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person died in an accident on Highway 10 in Anoka County Thursday.

According to the State Patrol, the accident occurred in the westbound lane of Highway 10 and Armstrong Boulevard in Ramsey, Minn.

Police said a MnDOT vehicle was set up to do shoulder work in the westbound lane when an RV swerved and sideswiped the MnDot vehicle.

The driver of the MnDOT vehicle, 58-year-old Gene Schimmele, of Baxter, sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The passenger of the RV, 82-year-old Mary O'Connor, of White Bear Lake, sustained serious injuries.

State patrol said the driver of the RV, 63-year-old Leo Delonais, of White Bear Lake, was dead on the scene.
