Sheriff: Man, 51, Killed After Crashing Into Fridley Ditch

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 51-year-old St. Anthony man is dead after he crashed his truck into a ditch in Fridley early Thursday morning, according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.

At 3:46 a.m., Fridley police received a 911 call to check a vehicle that appeared to have left the roadway near Highway 65 just north of Interstate 694. The Minnesota State Patrol says he crashed his truck into a ditch at the end of an exit ramp.

When officers arrived, they found the victim unresponsive and life-saving efforts were unsuccessful.

The man's body was then taken to the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office for medical examination. His identity will be released when his family is notified.

The accident is being investigated.
