State Patrol: 1 Dead, 1 Hurt In Sauk Rapids Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person died and another was injured in a broadside crash near Sauk Rapids Monday morning, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities responded to the crash just after 11 a.m. on Highway 15 near 18th Street North. When officers arrived to the scene, a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country was heading northbound on Highway 15 and a 2004 Chevy Impala was heading westbound on 18th Street North.

The Chrysler collided with the Impala at the intersection. The driver of the Impala was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chrysler, an 84-year-old Royalton man, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The name of the victim has not been released. The State Patrol is investigating what led up to the crash with assistance from the Sauk Rapids Police Department.
