State Patrol Looking For Car, Driver In Belle Plaine Hit-And-Run

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota State Patrol is looking for information about a vehicle in Belle Plaine in the area where a 29-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run incident early Sunday morning.

Authorities are looking for a 2010 to 2012 Ford Fusion or Mercury Milan that was traveling on Highway 169 at the time of the crash, around 4:30 to 5 a.m. Troopers are also looking for the driver of the vehicle.

Derek Fath was walking home from a friend's house when he was hit by a vehicle near the intersection of northbound Highway 169 and Belle Plaine Trail. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Fath and his girlfriend had a son who is about to turn 2 years old.
