State Patrol: 2 Dead, 1 Hurt In Nicollet County Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two people were killed and one other suffered non-life threatening injuries Thursday in a broadside crash in St. Peter, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities were called to a report of a two-vehicle crash at about 4:23 p.m. on Highway 169 at Washington Ave. in St. Peter. When officers arrived, a 1996 Chevy Cavalier was headed northbound on Highway 169, made a left turn and collided with a Buick LaCrosse heading southbound.

The State Patrol said two people inside the Chevy Cavalier, including the driver, were pronounced dead at the scene.  They were identified authorities as 76-year-old Allen H. Cole and 75-year-old Marilyn R. Cole, both of St. Peter.

The driver of the Buick LaCrosse, a 34-year-old woman from Mankato, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The St. Peter Police Department provided assistance to the State Patrol at the scene.
