MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- One person was killed and another was injured in a rollover crash Wednesday morning in northwestern Wisconsin, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Authorities were called at about 8 a.m. to the crash on Highway 53 at Highway 70 near the city of Spooner in Washburn County. When officers arrived, they found one vehicle rolled over and blocking both lanes of traffic on Highway 53. Two people were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The driver, a 44-year-old man from Minong, Wis., was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, a 21-year-old female, was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

An investigation shows the vehicle drifted onto the west side shoulder of the road and when the driver attempted to correct the vehicle, it lost control and rolled several times.

The names of those involved in the crash have not been released. The Wisconsin State Patrol says the crash is under investigation.
