State Patrol: 1 Dead In Hubbard County Rollover Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person was killed early Friday morning in a rollover crash in Hubbard County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities were called at about 1:38 a.m. to the crash on Highway 87 near milepost 46. When officers arrived, a 2001 Chevy Suburban was heading eastbound on Highway 87 when the driver drove straight northbound onto County Road 20 and went off the road.

The Suburban rolled several times end over end. The State Patrol said the Suburban was traveling at a very high rate of speed on the road, which is recommended at 35 miles per hour. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the victim has not been released and what led up to the crash is under investigation. The Hubbard County Sheriff's Office and Park Rapids Police is providing assistance to the State Patrol.
