State Patrol: 1 Dead In Crow Wing County Motorcycle Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person is dead after a motorcycle was involved in a crash with a pick-up truck Sunday night in Crow Wing County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities were called at about 7:30 p.m. to the area of Highway 6 and Bay Drive S. on a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a truck. When officers arrived, a 2004 Chevy Silverado was heading southbound on Highway 6 near Emily and a Honda motorcycle was heading northbound without its lights on.

The pick-up truck moved into the northbound lane of traffic to pass another vehicle, and the motorcycle hit the truck on the front and side. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and a passenger in the truck suffered no injuries. The name of the victim has not been released.

The State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office, Cross Lake Police Department, Emily First Responders and the Emily Fire Department.
