State Fair Goes To The Dogs

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The annual "Pet-a-Palooza" event takes place at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds on Saturday.

Chris Kalis, one of the organizers for the event, says there will be fun for both people animals.

One particularly fun event to watch is the "Dock Dogs" competition.

"This is where all the dogs jump off a dock and try to get the biggest air, the biggest splash in pool," Kalis said.

He says people will also have a chance to adopt a dog with 13 different groups attending the event.

"We have hydration stations to keep your pet hydrated," he said.

The event is sponsored by The Urban Dog and the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center.

It is free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
