State Fair Attendance Comes Within 2.5 Percent Of All-Time Record

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The attendance numbers are in for the recently wrapped-up Great Minnesota Get-Together, and no records were broken this year.

However, fair officials say that 1,799,738 people attended the 12-day fair, bringing this year's attendance total within 2.5 percent of the all-time record.

In 2014, 1.8 million people went to the fair, making it the Greatest Minnesota Get-Together on the books.

Here are some other facts from this year's fair:

- The Grandstand saw 96,847 concert-goers.
- The CHS Miracle of Birth Center welcomed 190 newborn animals.
- The fair featured 40 new foods and 11 frozen treats.
- And the 4-H Purple Ribbon Auction brought in a record $560,000 for 4-H programs.

Officials have yet to release financial details on the fair.
