State Auditors Gather In Minnesota For Conference

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Dozens of elected auditors are descending on St. Paul.

The National State Auditors Association planned to open its multi-day annual conference on Tuesday in Minnesota, the home to the group's current president. State Auditor Rebecca Otto was hosting fellow auditors for a series of workshops and peer discussions. Topics include pension oversight, data security, accounting standards and the emerging use of e-government tools.

Association members include state auditors and those with the title of legislative auditor.

The association's seminars and receptions are often co-sponsored by large corporate accounting firms that bid on state work.
