Starting Soon, Minnesota Nursing Homes Can Go Big On Bingo

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A boundary on Minnesota nursing home bingo is going by the wayside.

Beginning Wednesday, nursing home and senior centers can hold as many bingo events in a week as they want. That's because lawmakers lifted part of an existing law that had limited those facilities to two such games per week.

The total prizes for a single bingo game is still held at $10, with the $200 maximum for all games in one day kept in place too.

Lawmakers made the change as part of a broader gambling regulation bill.
