Search Underway In North Minneapolis After Shooting Leaves Victim In Critical Condition

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A search for a suspect is underway in north Minneapolis following a shooting Tuesday morning.

According to police, the search is happening in the area of Irving and West Broadway avenues.

Prior to the standoff, one person was injured in a shooting. Police say reports of a shooting came in just before 9 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim is currently in the hospital in critical condition.

Witnesses have told police that the shooter ran into a nearby building and did not come out. Officers evacuated that building and are looking for the suspect.

Police believe the suspect and victim know each other.
