Standoff At Fargo Hotels Ends Peacefully After 5 Hours

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A disturbance at a Fargo hotel has ended peacefully after about five hours.

KFGO radio reports that police took a man into custody shortly after 5 a.m. Tuesday and took him to a hospital for a mental health evaluation. Authorities said the man did not have a gun.

Officers responded to the Candlewood Suites near the Fargodome shortly after midnight Monday after a man reported seeing another man with a gun.

Police told WDAY-TV that the caller said he had post-traumatic stress disorder, and that he might have been having a mental health issue.

Some hotel rooms were evacuated during the standoff and some nearby roads were blocked off.

A person who identified himself as the desk manager at the hotel declined comment to The Associated Press.
