St. Thomas Student Suffers Brain Injury In Weekend Bike Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A St. Paul college student suffered a brain injury over the weekend after his bike collided with a car.

Police say Evan Steeves was riding his bike on Saturday near Cleveland and Jefferson avenues when a car struck him.

A car riding northbound on Cleveland was not able to brake in time when Steeves was crossing the intersection.

Police say the driver was not at fault and is cooperating with investigators.

Steeves is a mechanical engineering major and a freshmen at St. Thomas. Police say he was not wearing a helmet.

He remains in critical condition.
