Tickets For Tommie/Johnnie Football Game Go On Sale Tuesday

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Twins and St. Thomas announced Monday that tickets for the inaugural football game at Target Field will go on sale Tuesday.

St. Thomas will host St. John's at Target Field on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017. It's one of the greatest rivalries in Division III athletics, and tickets for the game will go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Both teams were ranked in the top-10 this year, and both made the NCAA Division III Playoffs.

The Tommies got to the quarterfinals before losing to UW-Oshkosh. St. John's got to the second round, and also lost to Oshkosh. Next year's game will be played at 1 p.m.

Officials said general seating tickets will cost $15 to $35, and about 2,000 student tickets will be available for both schools next summer for $10 per student. Tickets can be bought at the Twins ticket office, by calling (612) 33-TWINS or by going online to twinsbaseball.com/football.

In this year's game, St. Thomas beat St. John's 33-21. The Tommies have won three straight in the series, including a playoff victory in the second round last year.
