St. Thomas Headed To Division III Semifinals

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The St. Thomas men's basketball team is bound for the NCAA Division III semifinals for the third time in the last six years.

The Tommies will play in Salem, Virginia, on Friday against Christopher Newport University. Benedictine faces Amherst in the other matchup, with the winners advancing to the championship game on Saturday. St. Thomas won the title in 2011.

The Tommies (28-3) advanced with an 86-76 victory on Augustana College's home court in Rock Island, Illinois. The Vikings were the top-ranked team in the D3hoops.com poll and took a 22-game home winning streak into that game. Augustana was the national runner-up in 2015.
