St. Paul Woman, 30, Found Guilty In Fatal Mpls. Strip Club Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A jury has found a 30-year-old St. Paul woman guilty of shooting another woman dead inside a Minneapolis strip club, the Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced Monday.

After deliberating for parts of four days, the jury found Jasmine Nicole Jones guilty of second-degree murder in the death of 32-year-old Lakisha Marie Neal of Minneapolis.

The shooting occurred at Augie's Cabaret in downtown Minneapolis in the early morning hours of Oct. 18, 2014.

According to the complaint, the two women -- who had been feuding for a while -- got into an argument at the club that quickly became physical. After bouncers separated the women, they moved toward the back of the nightclub. That's where witnesses say Jones pulled out a handgun and shot Neal in the head before fleeing out the back door.

Neal was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say Jones turned herself into the Hennepin County Jail later that day and brought the handgun with her.

Jones had been free on bail, but was taken into custody after the verdict was read.

Jones' sentencing date is scheduled for March 14.
