St. Paul Winter Carnival Crowns Its Royalty

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – The St. Paul Winter Carnival kicked off Thursday and the royalty for the "Coolest Celebration on Earth" was crowned Friday night.

Roger C. Kruse of Anoka was named King Boreas LXXVIII. Abby Hoglin of Lakeville was crowned Aurora Queen of the Snows. Tim Simplot was named the Prime Minister. Leo Yurek was named Titan Prince of the North Wind and Elizabeth Carlson was crowned the North Wind Princess.

Chuck Bethel was named Euros, Prince of the East Wind and Christine Schrader was named the East Wind Princess. Curt Cooper was crowned Zephyrus, Prince of the West Wind and Abby Massee was named the West Wing Princess.

Mark Biermann was named Notos, Prince of the South Wind and Ashley Galloway was crowned the South Wind Princess. Mark Marrone was named Captain, Alex Keller was named Sgt. Guard of the North, Mark Peterson was named the South Wind Guard, Duane Tessmer is the East Wind Guard, Alex Casebolt is the West Wind Guard and Matt Johnson was named the Pillow Guard.
