St. Paul Student Pleads Guilty To Attack On Teacher

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 16-year-old St. Paul student pleaded guilty Friday in Ramsey County juvenile Court following accusations of choking a teacher.

The court released Fon'Tae O'Bannon into his mother's custody, with conditions.

He was charged with felony assault for slamming a teacher against a wall during lunch time on Dec. 4.

The teacher had tried to break up a fight. He was hospitalized with a traumatic brain injury.

Ramsey County Attorney John Choi says this is the 27th case of a juvenile assaulting a school official this year.
