St. Paul Standoff Ends With Armed Suicidal Man Shooting Himself

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man was hospitalized with a self-inflicted gunshot wound Friday evening following a standoff with St. Paul police.

Officers were called to the 400 block of Jessamine Avenue East Friday afternoon on a report of a suicidal man on his porch with a gun.

Neighbors were evacuated, and standoff began that involved SWAT team members. It all ended just before 7 p.m. when the man shot himself.

He was taken to Regions Hospital. His identity and condition have not been released.

St. Paul Police say one other person was injured in the standoff.
