St. Paul Police Investigating 2 Separate Shootings, 1 Deadly

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- St. Paul Police say that they're investigating two separate shooting incidents, one of which was fatal.

Officers say they responded to a deadly shooting that happened near Rice Street and Sherburne Avenue at about 8 p.m. Investigators say they found a man suffering multiple gunshot wounds.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting. There were some reports that there was an altercation before the shooting, but police have not verified those reports.

This marks the 30th homicide in the city this year.

The other shooting being investigated Saturday night happened at about 8:45 p.m. on the 1100 block of 4th Street.

A 22-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he was listed in critical condition, but he is expected to survive.

The two shootings are not considered to be related.
