St. Paul Park Woman Nabs Klondike Kate Role

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- She had charm, beauty, and a man who'd done her wrong.

On Wednesday night, six ladies competed for the title of Klondike Kate for this year's St. Paul Winter Carnival.

Judges rated their singing, crowd appeal, and how much they embodied the real-life dance-hall girl's character.

Kathy Rustin-Westphal from St. Paul Park won the coveted role. She'll serve as the Winter Carnival's official mistress of fun.

This year's festivities start two weeks from Thursday.
