Police: Suspect In St. Paul Motel Double Murder Arrested

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 30-year-old man is in custody in connection to a double murder at a St. Paul motel Tuesday night.

Police found one man dead outside of Midway Motel on Snelling Avenue just before 10 p.m.

The other victim was found dead near a freeway off-ramp. Police believe he may have tried to run and was gunned down.

Eric John Benner was arrested Wednesday but has not been formally charged. Officers are looking for others who may be connected to the murders.

Police do not think the shootings were random.
